Optimising your Google Business Profile: 10 measures for more visibility
After the clean-up comes the build-up: with these ten measures your Google profile gets found, clicked and contacted more often.

A clean review profile is the foundation. If you also want to be at the top of local search, you should actively maintain your Google Business Profile. In our experience these ten measures have the biggest effect.
1. Choose the primary category precisely
"Restaurant" is weaker than "Italian restaurant". The main category decides which searches you appear for at all.
2. Enter services and products completely
Every listed service is an additional search term your profile can rank for.
3. Description with search terms
750 characters that naturally include your most important services and your location – without keyword stuffing.
4. Keep opening hours current
Including public holidays. Nothing drives customers away faster than a locked door despite "open".
5. New photos regularly
Profiles with current photos receive significantly more route requests and clicks. One photo a week is enough.
6. Use posts
Offers, news and events signal activity – Google and customers reward that.
7. Reply to every review
Positive and negative alike. Replies increase trust and interaction with the profile.
8. Maintain questions and answers
Add the most common customer questions yourself and answer them – before someone else does it wrong.
9. Make genuine reviews easy
A direct review link on invoices, receipts or via a QR code at the counter noticeably increases the number of genuine reviews. Important: no incentives, no pre-selecting satisfied customers – that violates the policies.
10. Consistently report inadmissible reviews
Every removed fake review raises your rating and with it your visibility. Check your profile at least monthly – or have it monitored.
Those who implement these points usually see more profile views, calls and route requests within two to three months. The fastest lever remains cleaning up the review profile.
