Review reported – what now? Process, duration and realistic chances
What happens after a Google review is reported, how long the check takes and which success rates are realistic in practice.

You've reported a review – and hear nothing at first. That's normal. So you can judge what happens now, here's the process from our daily practice.
Phase 1: Automatic pre-check
After the report, the review first passes through Google's automated systems. Clear-cut cases – spam, insults, obvious advertising – are often removed within 24 to 72 hours.
Phase 2: Manual review
More complex cases, especially "no customer contact" and conflicts of interest, end up with a review team. Here the quality of the justification decides: whoever explains comprehensibly why the review can't be genuine has far better cards. This phase typically takes five days to four weeks.
Phase 3: Result
A removed review disappears from the profile without notice and the rating is recalculated. If it stays visible, you usually receive a brief notification that no violation was found.
If the first report fails
A rejection isn't a final no. Via the Business Profile support form the case can be presented a second time – with additional evidence such as customer lists, appointment overviews or screenshots of further irregularities on the author's account. In our practice, a noticeable share of initially rejected reviews is removed on the second attempt.
Realistic success rates
Spam, advertising, insults: very high rate, often within days.
No customer contact / fake profile: high with good documentation, weaker with a mere assertion.
Competitors / ex-employees: good if the connection can be proven.
Unfair but genuine criticism: low – here the reply counts.
Across all categories, our experience value is around eight out of ten submitted reviews. Nobody can give a guarantee – which is why you should only pay for reviews that are actually removed.
Can the review come back?
In rare cases yes, for instance if the author appeals. The report is then reviewed again. Reputable providers resubmit such reviews at no extra cost.
